Week of 11/11/24 – 11/15/24

Here’s this week’s plan:

Math: We’ll finish Chapter 4 of Singapore Math this week. The math check is scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday, 11/13). Next, we’ll start Chapter 5, focusing on multiplication and division (Part 2). This week, students will learn to multiply by multiples of ten and practice multiplication with regrouping in the tens place.

Social Studies: This is our final week studying early Missouri Native Americans before we begin our next science unit on heat, sound, and light. Students will dive deeper into the Hopewell and Cahokia tribes and create a Hopewell “artifact” using a roll of copper.

Spelling: Students have been practicing their new spelling lists this week. Next week, I’ll add challenge words for each list to enhance their skills!

Reading: Students are thoroughly enjoying our novel study of The One and Only Ivan. This week, they’ll explore quotes and discuss deeper meanings in the text.

Writing: This is the last week to complete informative essays. Next, students will begin working on their historical narratives.

Have a wonderful week!
