Hola, estudiantes! As we approach winter break, it’s a perfect time to reflect on all that we’ve learned in our 3rd grade Spanish class this semester.
We began our journey with the alphabet, where we learned to pronounce each letter in Spanish. Then, we moved on to colors, which allowed us to describe the world around us in a fun way.🌈 Learning the numbers from 0 to 100 was exciting too! Now we can count and do some simple math in Spanish. 🔢
One of the highlights of our semester was exploring Spanish-speaking countries and their capitals. We learned different fun facts and explored various regions, discovering their unique cultures and traditions. We are currently completing a unit on travel, where we are learning vocabulary related to packing for a trip, navigating the airport, and the excursions and activities that people enjoy while on vacation. 🌎✈️🌴
We also celebrated various Hispanic holidays. We learned about La Tomatina, where people throw tomatoes at each other, and Día de los Muertos, a beautiful celebration honoring our loved ones who have passed away. We discussed how families create altars and share memories during this special time. In addition, we looked at different winter holidays and traditions, including Navidad, in Spanish-speaking countries.
Additionally, we extensively studied the country of Bolivia. We discovered its rich culture, diverse geography, and delicious food. We learned about its traditions and how the people celebrate their heritage. 🇧🇴
As we wrap up this semester, I am so proud of how much each of you has learned and grown! Enjoy your winter break, and I can’t wait to see you all back in class for more exciting adventures in Spanish! Felices fiestas, or happy holidays! ❄️ ⛄️🌲
