Concluding our week in EL Blue, our early learners took a delightful journey around the world as they explored holidays and traditions from different cultures. It was a wonderful way to introduce diversity and global customs while having fun with hands-on activities that sparked curiosity and creativity!
We explored Hanukkah and the Jewish Festival of Lights where a menorah is lit and has eight candles as a reminder of the eight days the oil lasted, and one extra candle called the shamash that helps light the other candles.
We learned about Diwali and their Festival of Lights that expresses love and shared happiness with everyone.
We listened to stories about Ramadan and how it is like a special month where many people take time to think about how they can be kind, help people in need, and show love to their family and friends.
We ended our week discussing the many ways Christmas is celebrated. It is another special holiday when people show love to their families and friends, be kind, and share joy with everyone around. For many people, Christmas is a time for giving and receiving gifts to show kindness.
Our Winter Party!
To wrap up the week, we celebrated with our very own winter party! It was a joyful time filled with crafts, snacks, and a festive game. Thank you so much to all who took part in making this a very special time for the children!
Wishing everyone a joyful winter season! ❄️ ❄️ ❄️ – Love, Mrs. Beard
