A Map of My Heart

In My Map Book, Sara Finelli inspires us to think about maps in a whole new way with wonderful images of maps including: “A Map of My Dog,” “A Map of My Day,” “A Map of My Stomach,” and yes, “A Map of My Heart.”

What is love? What are the things that you love the most? If we could see inside your heart, what would we find there?   These are the questions we examined in our class through the planning and creation process. Students used marker to outline their heart maps and fill it with words and images to depict the things they love most.  After doing this, students used watercolor paints to finish their masterpieces.  The students were very inspired by Finelli’s book and dove into this assignment with great enthusiasm!  Ask your child to share what pieces they included in their heart map.  You will get a closer look at student-led conferences next week!

PS – Our class was thrilled to win the SPO Coin Drive. Today we celebrated with a Donut Party!!
